An Exquisite Escape

In Picture Of The Month by admin / March 3, 2017 / 0 Comments

As we bid farewell to the winter season and the green shoots of spring appear, our February Picture of the Month brings you one last final exhilarating wintery scene. Captured on a recent trip with Aston Martin as part of their Art of Living programme, this image is taken above La Thuile in the Aosta Valley at an altitude of circa 1800m.

Being unseasonably warm, we were able to use these amazing roads to photograph the stunning AM DB11. Sliding around in the back of a borrowed pickup, we were able to capture the car pin sharp at F22 at 1/60th sec, which provides the genuine movement in the image whilst driving at over 40mph on these meandering mountainous roads.

If cars are your thing you can see more here in our latest automotive magazine.

Elsewhere this month, London Fashion Week has seen Red Photographic return to work with the event’s principal sponsor Sunglass Hut. You can see highlights of all the action with the brand both on and off the runway here on our Instagram page.

Out of place, wistful and beautiful, our January Picture of the Month, captured on the shores of South Bank, is unexpected to say the least. This unique commission was by Rooster PR for their client Flight Centre. Briefed to capture imagery on the streets of London to promote Flight Centre’s Australia Day flight deals, the result is a series of images depicting a lost surfer seeking the waves in wintery London.

Architectural Triumph

October’s Picture of the Month is a spectacular interior shot by our Director of Photography, Jonathan Stewart. Created by architect David du Roi Aberdeen in 1958, the Congress House in Holborn is an architectural triumph. The building plays host to this beautiful pietá-style statue carved by Jacob Epstein, intended to commemorate those trade unions lost during both the First and Second World Wars. Jonathan’s image of the poignant statue was captured whilst on shoot for our client, The Musicians Union.

This month has seen Red Photographic involved in an array of exciting and varied commissions. A particular highlight, was capturing Her Majesty the Queen at a recent event for the Royal Academy of Arts. You can spot more shots from this very royal occasion over on our Instagram page!

We also had the exciting opportunity to showcase what we do at this year’s Independent Hotel Show at Olympia, London. It was fantastic to meet with so many hoteliers and industry professionals and be able to inspire with our imagery and film.

Bringing Burgundy to the City

Last month, we were commissioned to shoot the recently opened Cabotte restaurant on Gresham Street; a restaurant bringing the delicious French cuisine along with a unique wine list to London. Our Managing Director and Chief Photographer, Simon Owen, captured not only their beautiful interiors but some of their exquisite dishes too.

Cabotte in the press2

Spotted in City AM!

Named after the small huts that Burgundy wine growers have within their vineyards, Cabotte is already stirring up excitement on Gresham Street with its green and gold interiors, offering something new and authentic to the city. The restaurant is owned by two Master Sommeliers, Xavier Rousset and Gearoid Devaney, who both host extensive London experience coupled with a passion for the Burgundy wine region and French excellence. Cabotte aims to provide Londoners with a traditional local French bistro, serving traditional dishes with modern twists and innovative additions.

Whether you’re in a rush and need a quick bite to eat, or in need of a beautiful space to host a dinner party, Cabotte provides a wine list made up of fantastic classics and interesting rarities, coupled with a variety of menus and dining areas, so there is something to suit every diner and occasion. Welcoming guests with a candlelit drinking area laced with a cosy and romantic atmosphere, leading on to a lively red and dark wood dining area, providing a very plush and exciting dining experience for all.

Our imagery hosts a vintage overlay which accentuates the authentic French feel of the new restaurant. With keen attention to lighting and positioning, dark tones are emphasised giving it a moody but inviting tone- drawing on people’s curiosity. Our shots capture not only the rustic theme but also the passion of owners Rousset, Devaney and their highly experienced team in every detail.

This new commission by Red Photographic included capturing all aspects of the restaurant bringing together many of our areas expertise, including food photography, portraiture and interiors- you can see more of our work with Cabotte here. Sparkle in Chelsea Harbour

September’s Picture of the Month is a dazzling shot taken at Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour by our senior event photographer Simon Williams during Focus/16. You can find out why the carnival atmosphere came to Focus/16 and read more about the annual design event here in our latest blog.

Another highlight of the month was the BGC Partners Charity Day which remembers those who died during 9/11 and has raised over $125 million since it was set up. This year public figures including Joanna Lumley, Sadiq Khan and Lindsay Lohan took to the trading floor and worked the phones to support dozens of charities around the world. Our shot of British actor Tom Hardy holding a puppy and supporting Battersea Dogs and Cats Home unsurprisingly took the internet by storm.

Looking ahead, Red Photographic is exhibiting at the Independent Hotel Show at Olympia on October 18 -19. The show brings together a curated collection of the best suppliers, experts and service providers in the industry. You can find us at Stand 80!

Focus/16 brings the Carnival to London!

In Blog,Spotlight by admin / September 21, 2016 / 0 Comments

The Olympics and Paralympics may be over for another four years but the carnival theme seems to be catching fire at Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour, for the Focus 16event, which continues until Friday 23rd September. After seeing some of our fantastic GB competitors at the annual BGC Charity Day last week it was brilliant to see the essence of the Rio games continuing at the Focus/16 party!

This year’s party unveiled an amazing group of performers in fantastically vibrant costumes bursting with explosive colours and sky high head pieces; the show was surely one to remember and and a great one to capture. We have captured this design event for Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour for many years, and each year we are always so impressed with the flair and style with which it is executed, and it is a wonderful event to photograph.

This year’s event offered new perspectives on the latest developments in design, whilst also exhibiting spectacular decor and entertainment, alongside a fantastic selection of food and beverages. Visitors were able to see the latest launches, connect with design connoisseurs and see creativity up close. This year, art provided new perspectives on the latest developments in design.

BGC Charity Day 2016

In Blog,Spotlight by admin / September 16, 2016 / 0 Comments

BGC Partner’s annual Charity Day, now in its 11th year, giving 100% of their global revenues for the day to the Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund and many other charities around the world, commemorating those tragically lost in the New York terrorist attacks on September 11th 2001. The event has raised over $125 million globally since its inception, bringing some positivity each year in the wake of this tragic day.

Over the years, BGC Partners have been supported by stars such as Samuel L. Jackson, Mo Farah, and Joan Collins, alongside royal family members, including the Duke of Cambridge and Prince Harry. Public figures and traders do their bit working the phones on the trading floor, raising money for their chosen charities. This year saw a whole host of famous faces including Joanna Lumley, Lindsay Lohan and Pippa Middleton become city traders.

Red Photographic has had the honour of capturing the incredible atmosphere of the BGC Charity day for many years. Not only do we provide imagery for our client BGC Partners but we also syndicate imagery to press. This year within a matter of hours, our images had been published in The Times, Business Insider and The Guardian, to name but a few.

However, the photo that nearly broke the internet was that of Tom Hardy holding a puppy whilst working the phones. This year was the actor’s second appearance at the charity event, returning to represent not one but two charities, Bowel Cancer UK and Battersea Dogs and Cats Home. Soon after release, the image went viral all over social media, and was even shared by reality TV star, Vicki Pattinson, and of course published on the prestigious Tom Hardy Holding Dogs Instagram page!

BGC Charity Day is a fantastic event to be involved with and a highlight in the Red Photographic calendar each year. To learn more about the day head over to the BGC Partners Website and view more images from the day here.

August’s Picture of the Month was taken on shoot for Momentum Ski, capturing imagery for their new road cycling and mountain biking experience. This incredible view of the Emosson reservoir in the canton of Valais, Switzerland, served as an amazing backdrop for this adventurous commission. More imagery from the trip can be seen over on our Instagram.

Elsewhere, a new project this month has seen Red Photographic begin work with the Savoy London. Tasked to capture images of their new menu at their onsite restaurant, Kaspar’s Seafood Bar and Grill, you can take a look at their magnificent dishes here in a photobook of highlights from the shoot.
